David Hockney. Anne Geddes. David Bailey. Andy
Warhol. David Bowie. These photographers, artists, musicians and all around
creatives are the people who have and continue to inspire me every day in my
career as a professional photographer.
You’ve reached the LinkedIn profile of
professional photographer, art lover and current affairs enthusiast Oliver Rawlings and if you want to glean an understanding of who I am and how I came
to practice in professional photography then keep on reading.
I’ve had an interest in everything creative
right from childhood. As I grew up and started to consider what I wanted to do
with my life I started becoming entranced with the works of the great modern
artists. Andy Warhol has held a particularly strong grip on my imagination and
his clever take on modern pop culture inspired me to enroll in Art College.
Specialising in photography, my time at Art
College was one of the best in my life. I spent that time learning about
everything from the mechanics of photography; the cameras and equipment needed
to take breathtaking pictures to the various styles and forms the discipline
can take.
Once I graduated from Art College I quickly
established a reputation as a freelance professional photographer. This is the job of my dreams. Working as a
professional photographer has given me the chance to travel the length and
breadth of the globe, encountering different cultures and societies, learning
about different people and being afforded the privilege to tell a thousand
different stories with one snap of the camera. I’ve worked hard over the years
to establish a reputation for professionalism and excellence.
Aside from my career I like to stay involved in
what is happening across the world. It’s important to know what’s going on and
how other people are living their lives and I like to keep track of current
affairs. Apart from this I like to listen to music whenever I can, socialise,
go dancing, read and write and just generally enrich my life any way I can.
